300 years of history

before anything, a mill...

Built in 17th century, the first function of our buildings was to work walnuts to extract the oil from it. The vestiges of this first activity continue to decorate numerous rooms parts of the establishment.

a family history...

The mill was acquired in 1969 by Solange and Lucien Gardillou, Alain's parents - current owner & chef - they will transform it then by restoring gradually.. First it was a small modest restaurant, then Solange was one of the first ladys chef awarded with a Michelin star.. And a second Michelin star for a few years.. Followed then the hotel, 4 stars, which will get bigger in the 90s with the transformation of an adjacent building and 9 luxurious additional rooms. Alain grew up in the kitchen with his mother, he was always passionated about the "french cuisine" he will buy Le Moulin du Roc from his parents in 1996. He kept a Michelin star, and continue to write this beautiful family history..

A michelin star since 1979..

As the river, the Excellence flows at the heart of this mill. Every year  for now 38 years, the Guide Michelin awards 1 star to our restaurant, so recognizing the gastronomic quality of our cuisine. A continuity which very few restaurants have...
